through the experience in century-old vineyards.
The raison d’être of Bodega Cuatro Rayas is making Verdejo wine for the world. Our facilities in La Seca produce around 15 million wine bottles per year distributed in more than 50 countries—including the United States, Russia, Mexico, China, or Japan. Since its establishment in 1935, the winery has become a benchmark in the production of white wine and, in recent years, has won numerous awards for its red, rosé, frizzante, fortified wines, and vermouth.
Since the beginning, some of the priorities of the Cooperative have been taking care of the environment and the well-being of the people who live in rural areas. This commitment to a natural and social environment where we develop our business is now supported by the launching of ‘green & social’, a hallmark that attests the actions carried out in all the stages of the production of our wines to improve the living standard of our members and workers and the protection of the environment.

The Verdejo Wine from Rueda in the World
Bodega Cuatro Rayas is nowadays one of the most renowned wineries for its Verdejo wines: leaders in white wine consumption in Spain and have a major influence and recognition in foreign markets. Along with this grape variety—indigenous to the region where the winery is located and where Cuatro Rayas has a small portion of mostly pre-phylloxera and goblet-trained century-old vineyards—, the Cooperative produces and distributes wines made with Sauvignon Blanc, Tempranillo, Viura and Palomino Fino.
Bodega Cuatro Rayas still keeps some vineyards of the latter variety, which nowadays is not allowed to be newly planted in DO Rueda, to produce our traditional fortified wines. Additionally, our product portfolio includes vermouths produced from our wines and aromatised with a special selection of botanical extracts chosen by our winemakers.
ENVIRONMENTALLY RESPONSIBLE
With our seal ‘green & social, we protect the Cooperative’s commitment to the respect for the environment and the people who live in it. We have developed our own hallmark to bring to light our commitment to a green philosophy with a focus of attention on the well-being of people. The design of this hallmark depicts a grape and a smiley face united by two arrows forming a circle and highlights the interdependence of the sustainability of the natural environment and the people who live in it.
